Ceremony in Borrego Springs

In late December 2024, Cathy Miller received a lovely invitation from Philip Lindstrom, Aminah’s son. He wrote to let her know that Aminah's family would be having a small gathering in Borrego Springs on Saturday January 25th, 2025 to scatter Aminah’s ashes in the desert.

As a result, a small group of “Soul Lightening Sibs” (Philip's words) were invited to make the trip. Marilyn Zurwaski, MaDonna Hill, Jeanne Korn, Susan Grant and Paula Macali made the trek to Borrego Springs to represent our Insight Acupressure/Soul Lightening community.

Fritz and Aminah gave very specific instructions as to how and where there ashes were to be laid to rest. Part of Fritz's ashes were given to the Zero Balancing community to spread at a later time, and the rest were to be scattered with Aminah's ashes in a special location in Borrego Springs.

Graceful Conclusions

At the end of January, Aminah and Fritz were laid in their final resting place together in their adored Borrego Springs. A small group of family and community members gathered to remember them and bring them to a peaceful resting place. Aminah and Fritz had given specific instructions regarding the land, which was to be returned to the Indigenous People.

A few things were obvious to those of us present: Fritz’s urn was a structured black container, while Aminah’s was iridescent. How appropriate, given the work they both taught. The act of spreading their ashes together was a beautiful example of how blending can truly work and be a gift. Their life’s work, though separate, was intrinsically intertwined, much like Yin and Yang.

We are all so grateful for these amazing masters who created their work and spent a lifetime sharing and educating the world.

Full Circle

Aminah's family were very grateful for the Soul Lightening/Insight Acupressure practitioners who showed up in Borrego Springs to help spread Aminah’s ashes. We all agreed it felt full circle and closure for Aminah and myself as well.

There were 12 of us who were at the ceremony and the desert where we spread their ashes... I am not trying to be sacrilegious... but the synchronicity was not lost on me that there were 12 of us present, as in the 12 disciples of Christ.

It was a simple succinct ritual, as Aminah would have preferred. For me it was a total plus that Fritz ashes were there as well. Only the family knew ahead of time that his ashes were going to be spread at the same time.

I was grateful to go on a hike with Marilyn to the Oasis. I felt totally myself again...as I had been out of sorts due to the last 3 years of caring for Mom and her funeral in addition to caring for Dad and his funeral, then completing their estate. I'm almost done.

For me personally it was great to share time with other Soul Sisters: Marilyn Zurwaski, Jeanne Korn, Susan Grant & Paula Macali. Visiting with Aminah's family and her process partner and other Soul Sisters was just what I needed.

The drive into the high deserts' magical valley of Borrego brought me right back to the feeling of anticipation and open hearted curiosity I felt every time I drove into that valley for a workshop with Aminah over the years!

Her Soul energy was definitely welcoming us in!

The day was clear, the sky bright blue and the air crisp and clean. As Aminah used to tell us: "the energy in Borrego is very clean and pure; the ancestors of this Valley are with us..."

The releasing of the ashes in the area of the desert where Aminah & Fritz specifically chose for their physical presences to release and for their Souls to soar was magical!

We all arrived together; family, friends, students, colleagues and Soul sisters & brothers. Aminah's son Phillip gave us each a bit of ashes and we each wandered into the desert to say our final personal goodbyes and to release our ashes.

It was solemn, yet joyful... personal, yet profoundly communal & connected to Aminah & Fritz, to each other in the desert and to all our sisters & brothers through Process Acupressure, Soul Lightening, Insight Acupressure & Zero Balancing! We were all there together in a regal circle, forming an eternal Pyramid to the ever present energy of our work together to forever flow... !

Thank you beloved Aminah to your fearless leadership, your gentle guidance and your powerful eternal Presence in all of our lives, then, now and forever more!
